Alaska 2014

Our third cruise takes us up north to Alaska!

Yeah, yeah, I know Vancouver's not in Alaska. But it was the port from which we sailed. Check out the ship and some shots of Vancouver and the surrounding area.

Here's a short video of us passing under Lion's Gate Bridge.

And finally, the reason why long hair and wind don't mix.

Icy Strait Point

Our first port of call brings us to Hoonah and Icy Strait Point. We would see our first bear here. No, I'm not counting my wife.

Here are some shots of the wilderness that surrounds Hoonah.

This was also our first whale watching expedition on the trip.

Hubbard Glacier

Here are some shots of the majestic Hubbard Glacier.

Juneau was home to a lot of different activities.

Mendenhall Glacier is quite a sight to see, ice and snow jammed between two huge mountains.

Our second whale watching adventure was quite a bit more exciting than the first!

We visited the Taku Glacier Lodge via sea plane for some local salmon.

Finally, we took a trip up and down the Mount Roberts Tramway in downtown Juneau.

Our final stop was a short one in Ketchikan. We had a crab feast, and saw our second bear of the trip.

And yes, the crabs are local.
