Kathy and I wanted to do something spectacular for our summer vacation. We waited until the last minute to decide to go to Manchester, England, rushing in 2 weeks to get passports and plane tickets. Nothing like international spontaneity.
Driving in England
As an American, driving in England is terrifying, but not because you're driving on the wrong side of the road. There are roundabouts, small roads, and other uncommon hazards that can make things a little stressful for the passenger. Even on rural roads, driving on these tiny roads can be terrifying.
A look at the Manchester Cathedral, and one shot of some crazy football supporters about to watch a Euro 2004 game.
It was definitely worth the hour drive from Manchester to take in these amazing sights.
